Dean's father gave him his first camera when he was 7. It was a black one. He carried it everywhere, and used it to shoot everything. The camera even went with him to Taiwan in 1991, where he traded the camera for a pencil and joined Saatchi as a copywriter. Dean's still with Saatchi, but now lives in Beijing. And every once in a while, searches on Taobao for the camera he misses dearly.
